Seamless Fabric Texture – Wallpapers & Murals – Installation

Product Description

These premium heavy duty Wallcoverings have a luxurious low sheen, are scrubbable, lightfast and when it comes time to re-decorate – strippable. A tough material, produced with block out backing for strength and hiding capabilities over problem walls. It can even be directly applied over grooved paneling up to 1/8 inch and cracked walls once they have been sanded and primed. If the paneling grooves are in excess of 1/8” or the paneling has an excessive number of vertical grooves then Wall Liner should first be installed.

It is PVC free, environmentally & fire rated compliant and child safe. Weight 330 GSM.

This Wallcovering requires paste, which for ease of installation can be applied directly to the wall with a roller. You will need to purchase Strippable Ready-Mixed Wallpaper Paste, such as Roman PRO-880 Ultra Clear Adhesive.

You can order this product as a ‘seamless’ Wallcovering up to 144” wide and up to 126” high. However, if you prefer to work with 24” panels, so indicate on your order entry and all panels will be printed 24” wide. If your total wall width is not exactly divisible by 24”, the last panel will have a narrower printed area to complete the full width of your dimensions.

Ideal for homes, including bathrooms and kitchens and high traffic commercial installations.

Tools Needed

Installation Instruction

Unwrap and roll out the Wallcovering.

  • A separate sheet will provide a colored picture of your Wallcovering plus hanging instructions and the tools you will need.
  • If you have ordered separate 24” panels, make sure that you have all the panels for your Wallcovering and ensure that they will cover the entire area per the measurements you supplied when ordering.
  • Place the panels in order ready to install.
  • Lay panels flat for a few hours allowing them to uncurl.
  • If you have ordered a Seamless Wallcovering that will fit the entire width of your decorating area, without any seams, roll out and make sure that it fits the complete wall surface per the measurements you provided.

Strippable Ready-Mixed Wallpaper Paste.

  • This Wallcovering has no paste backing and you will need to purchase Strippable Ready-Mixed Wallpaper Paste. Roman PRO-880 Ultra Clear Adhesive is a good option.
  • It covers approximately 330 square feet per gallon and may be diluted with up to one pint of clean water per gallon for added slip.
  • Walls should be smooth and clean.
  • Prime if it has not been previously painted, this is particularly important if you are applying over wood paneling.
  • Turn off any electrical power outlets and remove plates.

Installing 24” Panels.

  • Begin your installation from the left wall corner and if it is not plumb (most are not!), draw a plumb line 23” out from the corner. (1” less than the width of your Wallcovering strip.)
  • Using a spirit level or plumb line mark a straight line down the wall to act as a right side guide when applying the first panel.
  • Line up the right edge of the wallcovering panel to this line and the left edge can be pushed tight into the corner with a papering tool/scraper and trimmed with a knife.
  • It is important that this first panel is perfectly plumb! You can repeat the plumb lines across the wall at 24” spaces for additional guidance if necessary.
  • Using a paint roller, apply the paste generously to the first 23” wall section.
  • Line up the right edge of the wallcovering panel to the first plumb line and the left edge can be pushed tight into the corner with a papering tool and trimmed with a knife.
  • It is important that this first panel is perfectly plumb! Follow the same procedure as above for the remaining 24” panels, pasting each panel area separately and butt joining the seam of each panel. Do not overlap seams.

Installing Seamless Panel.

  • Begin your installation from the left wall corner.
  • If it is not plumb draw a plumb line down the corner of the wall as a guide for you to align the left edge of the wallcovering.
  • Apply the paste generously and evenly to the wall using a paint roller and lambs wool cover. With two installers – one at either end, position the wallcovering at both ends and smooth to the center of the wall, removing any excess paste or air bubbles in the process.
  • This is a tough fabric and you will not damage it during this process.
  • Once completely adhered, trim top and bottom and around any framework – Ensure that the wallcovering is pushed tight into the corners and edges with your papering tool before trimming the excess.  Steel rules or spatulas are ideal for neat and straight cuts.
  • Replace your knife blade often – a dull blade may tear the fabric.
  • Once completed, sponge the entire surface to remove any paste residue on the surface.

Installing Wallcoverings to more than one wall in a room.

Murals most generally are applied to just one feature wall in a room. Wallpapers on the other hand are often applied to more walls, sometimes all four. In such cases you will need to compensate for the possibility that the other corners may not be plumb. Here is the best way to hang your wallcovering in these inside corners:

  • Measure distance from the edge of the last panel on your first wall to the corner at the top, middle and bottom.
  • Then add 1/2″ to the largest measurement and cut the next panel of wallcovering lengthwise to that size. (The portion you cut off will be used next.)

  • Hang panel and smooth it into the corner allowing the extra 1/2″ to overlap onto the adjoining wall.
  • Trim off excess at ceiling and baseboard.

  • Measure the width of your “cut-off” panel and snap a plumb line that same distance from the corner on the un-papered wall.

  • Hang panel to the line overlapping the 1/2″.
  • Continue around all walls using this procedure.

Removal When You Re-Decorate

  • This wallcovering is manufactured using a very tough non woven fabric and is very easy to remove.
  • Beginning at the top pull each wallcovering panel back on itself at an angle until it is completely removed.

Paste residue

  • Use a damp sponge to remove any paste residue once removal is completed.

Priming wall

  • One of the advantages in priming the wall before you install wallcovering is that it makes removal much easier.
